Introduction to Tunisian Crochet

Thursday Jan 13, 20 - 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Have you heard of or seen Tunisian crochet before? This is a fun fiber arts technique that is almost a hybrid of knitting and crochet. If you knit and have wanted to crochet, this class is for you, it’s a great way to ease into crochet. We’ll be working on a cowl in this class using the Tunisian Simple Stitch, which makes a dense, textured fabric. We’ll also go over some other stitches that mimic the knit and purl stitches and allow you so many stitch and texture combinations!

Intro to Knitting - Super Bulky, Cozy Cowl

Thursday February 10 & 17 6:30-8:30pm
Join us for this fun, informative class where Kelly will teach you how to Cast On, Knit, Purl and Bind Off. You’ll talk about yarn, needles, other tools of the trade, gauge and pattern reading, so you’ll have a good base of information to get you started off right! This cowl is so much fun to knit and wear, and makes great gifts for the holidays too; you’ll want to make one in every color!

Knit Your First Sweater

Wednesday March 9, 16 & 30 6:30-8:30pm
Have you knit hats, scarves, mittens and cowls and want to take on a sweater? In this class we’ll cover the techniques required for knitting a top-down, raglan sweater. We’ll be working in bulky weight yarn so it will be a fairly quick knit, in just a month’s time, you’ll have your very first sweater to knit! There is a bit of homework before the beginning of class, please knit a swatch, approximately 6” x 6” using your larger gauge (US 11) needles and working in stockinette stitch – cast on 20 stitches and work one row knit and one row purl – repeat until your swatch is approximately 6” square. Bring your swatch to the first day of class and we’ll get measured up and cast on!

Learn To Knit Socks - Worsted Shorty Socks

Thursday April 7 & 14 6:30-8:30pm

In this class you’ll learn the basics of sock knitting. We’ll be working with worsted weight yarn which allows you to better see your stitches, and when you are ready, you can easily take on the more traditional socks knit with fingering weight yarn on size US 1 needles! Knitting socks with worsted weight yarn makes fantastic boot socks or house socks, great for gifts or to keep your feet warm in the chilly months of the year. I hope you’ll join us for this fun class that will add another couple of techniques to your knitting toolbox!

Advanced Beginner Class – You should be comfortable casting on, knitting & purling.
